Designed to meet the needs of Gifted and High-Achieving students in grades 6-8, INQUIRE draws students from all four middle schools. Students are clustered together in classes and provided an opportunity to intellectually challenge and stimulate each other.
INQUIRE is an International Baccalaureate (IB) Candidate School for the Middle Years Programme. IB is a program of international education designed to help students develop the knowledge, understanding, attitudes and skills necessary to participate actively and responsibly in a changing world. Students take courses in English language arts, math, science, social studies, foreign language, technology, physical education, and fine arts.
Students who have previously been identified through testing as Gifted and Talented (G/T) or High Achieving are eligible to enroll in the INQUIRE Academy.
The INQUIRE Academy is located on the Jane Long Middle School campus.

“Mission to Mars” is the theme for the Odyssey Academy, a math, science and technology magnet school within the SFA campus.
Core content teachers guide sixth grade students through an integrated curriculum on a journey to colonize Mars, which means that while the science teacher is covering whether crops can survive on Mars, the language arts teacher may be posing a research paper topic on the social impact of limited food supply in society.
The Odyssey Academy is located on the Stephen F. Austin Middle School campus.
