The Bryan ISD Board of Trustees unanimously approved Daniela Garza-Ramirez as Principal of Henderson Elementary School at their meeting on Monday, June 7, 2021.
Garza-Ramirez has spent her entire 14-year career in Bryan ISD, the last five years as the assistant principal at Henderson.
“I am very humbled by this opportunity. I look forward to serving my Henderson family in a different role. Henderson Elementary has a very special place in my heart. I love all the students, their families and staff, and I can’t wait to see the great things we will accomplish together next year.”
Garza-Ramirez, who is fluent in both English and Spanish, has played an important role in growing the Dual Language Program during her time at the school.
“Daniela Garza-Ramirez has a special connection with all families at Henderson Elementary School,” said Bryan ISD Superintendent Dr. Christie Whitbeck. “She is the right person to continue building upon the growth and positive culture and climate at Henderson.”
Garza-Ramirez replaces Danielle Legg. After ten years of strong leadership at Henderson Elementary, Legg is moving into the principal position at Ross Elementary School for the 2021-2022 school year.
About the Hire:
Daniela Garza-Ramirez earned a Bachelor of Science and Master of Education in Bilingual Hispanic Education from Texas A&M University.
She began her career teaching second and then fourth grade at Bonham Elementary School, then moved into the position of a master teacher at Bonham and an instructional coach at Bonham before taking over as assistant principal at Henderson Elementary School in 2016.
Daniela is married to Tommy Ramirez, a Bryan native and former teacher of Bryan ISD.
