Bryan ISD welcomes student teachers for the fall and spring semesters. It is our goal to provide all student teachers with opportunities to gain insightful experiences that will enrich their career in education while assisting them with completion requirements for Texas educator preparation programs.

Application: Students in educational programs must complete the Bryan ISD Student Teacher Pool application on file before the start of the semester. Click here to complete the brief application to initiate the background check procedure.
The Human Resources (HR) department will communicate with campuses regarding whether an applicant did/did not pass a background check. All candidates should assume they are approved.
Orientation: Student teachers must attend a welcome reception/substitute orientation before their student assignment begins. Here, you will be provided with BISD professional expectations, as well as the required orientation for substituting for Bryan ISD.

Fingerprinting: Information will be sent to you via email after you complete your application. Once your fingerprinting requirements have been completed, you and your mentor teacher will be notified when you are eligible to begin substituting for up to three days for your mentor teacher while on assignment.
Substituting: You will only be able to substitute for your mentor teacher (no more than three days, total) while on assignment as a student teacher.
