The Bryan ISD Volunteer program offers countless opportunities to make a difference. We firmly believe that a strong corps of dedicated volunteers can help us assure student success for every child. The opportunities are endless, and we thank you for your interest.
STEPS TO VOLUNTEER
1. Background Check
You MUST complete the following background check at the following link BEFORE filling out the application form:
A Texas Driver License, Texas ID, or a primary acceptable identification document is required in order to submit the background check application. For more information regarding these documents, please click on the link on the right.
2. Volunteer Application
All volunteers and classroom observers are REQUIRED to complete a new Bryan ISD Volunteer Online Application annually, beginning August 16.
3. Approval and Placement
Once your Background Check has been cleared (Step 1) and your Volunteer Application has been submitted (Step 2), your information will be reviewed and shared with each campus coordinator. Placements will be determined based on availability and campus needs. Each campus is responsible for contacting approved volunteers. If after two weeks you have not been contacted regarding your volunteer status, please contact the volunteer coordinator. Teacher placements, field experiences, and classroom observation placements must be scheduled through the course's instructor and the volunteer coordinator at the district level.
When reporting to volunteer, please present your approved identification to the campus office staff for screening in the Raptor system, which checks all visitor names and ID’s against a sexual offender database.
