TIPS FOR PROPERTY TAXPAYERS

Bryan ISD taxes appear on statements mailed by Brazos County to Bryan property owners. Here is some important information and tips on what to look for and how to make sure your payment is on time:

A tax lien is automatically placed on property as of January 1 of each year to insure that taxes are paid.
Verify that you have received statements for all of your property. If you purchased property during 2022, the change may not have been received by the Tax Office. It is your responsibility to “render” or report ownership changes.

Failure to receive a tax statement does not dismiss penalty and interest for late payment.  Tax payments must be made at the Brazos County Tax Office at 4151 County Park Ct, Bryan, Texas  77802. The Appraisal District cannot take your tax payments.

BRING YOUR TAX STATEMENTS WITH YOU WHEN PAYING IN PERSON. It can take up to 4 times longer for a clerk to process your payments if they have to search for your accounts.  Include your payment stubs when paying by mail – or include the account number(s) of the property you are paying on your check or money order.

2022 taxes are due on or before January 31, 2023.  Timely payment by mail is determined by the U.S. Post Office postmark.

Brazos County offers the SPLIT PAYMENT OPTION: Taxes can be paid in 2 equal installments. To qualify, the first half payment must be made on or before November 30, 2022. The remaining half may be paid without any penalty or interest on or before June 30, 2023.

The tax office accepts payments by check, cash, e-check, credit or debit card, money order, or cashiers' check.

Payments can be made in person, by mail, on the internet from the website, or can be dropped in the payment drop box located in lane 1 of the drive through lanes. Payments dropped after the close of business will be posted as next day business. Online Payments are date and time stamped and will be credited up to 11:00 pm of the date of payment.

Look for the yellow insert with your tax statements for additional information on payment options, exemption information, and contact information. For additional assistance call the tax office at 979-775-9930.
