How often will my child take MAP Growth tests?
Bryan ISD will administer the MAP Growth assessments to students in K-12 in the fall, winter, and spring of each school year.
For the 2023-2024 school year, the testing windows are:
Fall: August 22-September 14, 2023
Winter: January 8-24, 2024
Spring: May 6-23, 2024
Which subjects will my student be assessed in each year?
Kindergarten and 1st grade: Reading and Math
2nd grade: Reading, Math, and Science
3rd-8th grade: Reading, Language (English Grammar), Math*, and Science*
*Students in middle school taking high school credit courses, will take the high school level growth assessment for that subject.
9th-12th grade: Reading and Language (English Grammar). Students will also take these assessments the year that they are enrolled in the course: Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Geometry, and Biology
Bilingual (K-2nd), Dual (K-6th), and NAC (K-6th) students will take the Reading assessment in both Spanish and English each year to assess growth in both languages.
What types of questions are on the MAP Growth assessments?
The MAP Growth assessment includes multiple-choice, drag-and-drop, and other types of questions. To view sample questions and get more information, visit Warmup.NWEA.org.
Can I help my child prepare for the MAP Growth Assessments?
Of course, that is "prepare," not "study." Students should not study for the MAP Growth assessments, but it is always good to know what to expect. For tips to prepare your child for MAP Growth assessments read the following article, "Preparing for MAP Growth: 20 Tips for Families."
Will I get a copy of my child's MAP Growth results?
Yes, you will receive a family report with your child's MAP Growth results after each testing administration window closes.
